Claire Openshaw is a Licensed Professional Counselor currently pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She received her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, Trauma, and Grief and Loss. Claire graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dublin Business School in Ireland. She has worked in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and inpatient settings, conducting individual and group therapy, as well as case management services. Claire is a member of the American Counseling Association, Illinois Counseling Association, and counseling honor society Chi Sigma Iota Delta Beta Sigma.

Claire specializes in child, adult, and family therapy, working with clients facing issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral, interpersonal relations, life transitions, grief and loss, and trauma. Her therapeutic orientation adopts an Individual Psychology approach, which embraces a holistic view to therapy. Claire’s approach to healing includes a systemic approach, integrating culturally-sensitive, strength-based, trauma-informed influences to foster an environment of growth and development. Claire is available to see low-fee clients and those with insurance.
